So it has been bug week in our house. Brian decided to wake me up this morning at around 5:30 a.m. to tell me to call our rental management company and have them spray the house - inside and out. I asked why and he just said, "You just need to." That tells me that there was something gross in the house, for the SECOND time this week!
Two days ago I was making dinner - thank goodness Brian was already home - and as I turned from the trash can to face the stove, there was a HUGE spider underneath it. I did some research, it's called a cane spider and doesn't spin a web, but does climb. It hunts for food at night. Great, so how long has this been living in my house...probably not long since it eats silverfish and I saw one last week...but anyways not something I wanted running around my feet while I'm cooking. One website suggests letting them live in your house - I don't think I could handle that. This thing is the size of a can of tuna fish! I don't want the picture on my website, so I'll post it, but I'll probably delete it soon - it grosses me out. Of course it lost a leg while Brian was catching it. Hopefully it won't hold that against us and will just be grateful that we didn't kill it.

However grateful the spider may be that we didn't kill it, it didn't stop this centipede from scaring Brian early this morning (hence his request that I call Forest City to have the house sprayed). It decided it needed some dog food I guess, but it got a free trip across the backyard. Had I been awake, it probably would have been killed. I've heard you have to literally chop them up to kill them and that it is suggested that you drop them down the garbage disposal. Okay, so maybe I wouldn't have killed it. I can see me putting a bowl over it until Brian got home to take care of it.

So anyways, I'm done with bugs - do you hear that bugs?!?! I'm done with you in the house, unless you are a small moth or beetle, try the house next door - there's nobody there so you'd have free reign...gross...

Katie, sorry to hear about your bugs. I have spiders all over my house. That's texas for ya!! Let's just be thankful no bug got near the baby!! That would freak me out!! How are the two of you?!
Ewwwwww! I don't think I would like to think of either of those crawling over the baby or me at night looking for dinner. Yucky!! It's awesome you didn't kill the spider. =0) We did in guay, let the spiders live in the bathrooms. He he!! Nasty huh?!! Hope you guys are doing great! Love y'all!
Those are HUGE. I would leave the house if I was home alone and saw one. I'm so happy I haven't seen one roach in Cali.
