Brian and I had a very slow Saturday. We were able to sleep in until 7:30 a.m. That's a big deal. On March 1st Brian started the Green Belt Instructor Course here on base. It's been a lot of early mornings and very tiring days. They do a LOT of PT. So he didn't want to move on Saturday. But, we took a trip to Target around 10 a.m. Got home and Brian and Galina took naps, I walked the dogs and read a book. Once everyone was awake again, we walked down to the beach, sans the boys. They get so messy at the beach because they run right out into the water after the crabs and fish. I love them, but I have to be in the mood to clean up the mess when we get home and I wasn't. My favorite duck was in his little puddle. He's a blue winged teal and I managed to get pictures of him flying too! You can see why they call him blue winged, but it's the underside of his wings that are teal. I didn't get a picture of those. This guy (and I know he's a boy now) has always traveled with two other ducks, at least for the last two years. But a few months ago, I noticed that one of the ducks he always traveled with was dead. I have no idea how or why - but since then only sometimes do I see this guy with his other traveling companion. More often than not, though, he's alone. Still, I think he's a beautiful duck. Brian also took the opportunity to throw his tomahawk. I used my cool camera to try and get a few good shots. I put the last sequence up. He stuck it :) Galina would clap and say, "Yay!" whenever he threw it, hit or miss. She reminded me of Julia, our resident cheerleader.
Then we let her wander on the beach. No, I'd have let her wander. Brian, on the other hand, has a death grip on her wrist or just carries her. He doesn't like her to touch anything and she struggled the whole time to get her tiptoes into the little puddles of water. Finally, we let her play in the sand - which is a bit worse in my opinion, than puddles. But, we all enjoyed ourselves and finished up the evening with pizza and cookies. Dessert is a word that Galina has mastered, speaking and meaning.
I have to add here, since today was Sunday, Galina was the WIGGLIEST little girl in sacrament. She was all over the place. Another one of her favorite words is "NO" - and I mean capitalized. We're not sure how to handle it just yet, but she knows how to say it. Nursery is also interesting. She looks forward to going in and playing but, buddy, if one of the kids gets picked up early or if a Mom or Dad walks in or out - she starts crying. All out. Brian is incredibly willing to pull her out and let her stay with him. I, on the other hand, am adamant that she go back in and play...as long as she is calmed down! I can handle a little bit of a whiny "no" when I try to drop her back off. We're working on that too. She's a good girl. I got her from nursery today and, in between tears because other kids had already been picked up, the first word she said to me was "bubbles" - because they had been playing with them in nursery. So, I know she enjoys herself while she's in there - most of the time.

She was so cute today, torn between wanting her momma and lovin the bubbles.
