The Blue Angels are flying in the Kaneohe Bay Airshow this weekend. They've been practicing today on the base, which means in our yard basically...and in the yards of everyone else on this side of the island. It's pretty neat. Galina enjoys watching them, but she gets a little jumpy when she can hear/feel them before she can see them. We were about to leave the house and three of them flew right over the garage - literally. That's quite a sound...and feeling. I then spent the next 20 minutes taking pictures of them. Galina finally got bored and tried to climb into the jeep herself. So, I drove to the store, bought only what I needed (amazing in and of itself), came back home, put her down for a nap and then parked myself outside for another 30 minutes to keep taking pictures. It was pretty neat. I know I looked funny, though, standing in my front yard with my camera. I may not drag Brian to the airshow this weekend after all...

I would have done the same thing...although with my camera they may have had a little blur behind them :) Fun stuff!! I think our base is like a no fly zone...not too many planes fly over here!
That is awesome and some really awesome shots. My girls would have left me outside by myself too.
the reason why I miss Pensacola! I loved hearing the "blues"...
However here we live near Bogue the Outlying field and we hear jets practice'n for boat landing...and yeah I dont like that so much because I swear they only start flying right at naptime!
