Our Easter

Since we spent last year in Galveston, TX (even though the Easter Bunny found us there too!) this was really Johnny's first Easter. He was thrilled with dying eggs, eating peeps, finding eggs, eating candy, eating eggs, eating more candy...he was somewhat less then thrilled with his tie though...

Galina let me take some big-girl pictures. She's such a sweet girl and so very, very full of so many, many great qualities. We love watching her grow and change.

Brian has so little patience when it comes to the kids making a real mess. I'm fairly certain that had he been a cat, he'd have lost one of his nine lives from the frustration he felt letting Johnny dye his own Easter eggs.

We enjoyed some pre-Easter peeps thanks to our Easter package from Granny and Pop.

 Easter Morning!
The EB left us a GINORMOUS (Galina :) Easter egg full of candy and toys. The kids loved it!
Didn't take them long to dig in either :)

 Our first egg hunt :)
Don't you love Galina's bangs?! She's growing them out...I don't know if I can take it much longer...

Galina was very good about helping Johnny find eggs, and if one was blatantly out in the open, she would purposely leave it for Johnny. Very sweet girl. We went to two other egg hunts and she was very good about only getting a few eggs, not trying to get as many as she could see, so that other kids would have some too. Love her. He's a mess. Yes, Christmas jammies :)

So, we finished up and headed back inside, except Johnny decided to empty his basket right in front of the front door, outside, so that he could "inspect" them a bit better. Both kids have had absolutely no problem eating hard-boiled eggs (plain..without salt!! eeeee...) and I'm okay with that.

Our Sunday best for Easter. He was in the process of chucking the sidewalk chalk because I said it was time to go! T.R.O.U.B.L.E. but oh so adorable...

I love the next three pictures :) Johnny was tickling Brian. He makes the cutest sound when he tickles...it sounds like "eee-oo-eee-oo" and we are smitten.

These are the best faces we could get...

The EB gave the kids this little bug-catcher and I let Galina put a dying moth into it. We keep our back porch light on at night, at least we did until I realized why the back porch was covered in dying moths everyday. And here she's letting her moth talk to another one on the ground.

Well, we had a fantastic Easter. We're glad Daddy was home for it. I think my favorite moment of the day was overhearing Galina tell Johnny, as they were eating eggs, that, "Easter isn't just about coloring Easter eggs. It's really about Jesus." I then asked, "What about Jesus?" and she said, "That he came back to life." We'll work on specifics later, but I was glad to hear that come out of her little mouth. We try.

Hope all of our families and friends had a wonderful Easter too!
