May saw the end of Galina's gymnastics class. She was hot and cold about it the entire time and told me after the last class that she did not want to do it again. Now she has talked herself back into it. What she doesn't know is that since Johnny would be able to go to class with her in the fall, they're both doing it. Homeschoolers have to have P.E. too...
Emma came to the observation day. Galina was thrilled - she went through quite a stage of Emma-worship in May. It's calmed down a bit now.
Johnny was originally in gymnastics but after two classes of him crying that he didn't want to go (it didn't help that he got sick just as the classes started) we gave up and transferred his tuition to Galina's class. Now that he has seen her go to class and come out happily, he's agreed to do it in the fall. I think it will help that they'll be in the same class now.
In May, Riley passed away. It was very unexpected and we are all heartbroken that he is no longer with us on earth. I do not ever remember a time without Riley, and I'm grateful that we were here this past year so that my kids got to know him too.
This little girl is getting bigger and bigger!
Me trying to catch one of her sleepy smiles while Brian was holding her.
A semi-rare moment where Galina and Johnny are getting along.
Sleeping anywhere we can get her to!
We met at the farm one afternoon to help Pop plant corn. Unfortunately the corn seed that he bought this year was bad - the up side is that that field is the nicest green grass you'd ever want to see!
I think I must have given away most of Galina's infant clothes, or else I just had a lot of Kerriann's and gave them back when Anna came :) At any rate, I had to buy a few new jammies to make it through to the 6 month clothes.
My Mother's Day card from Galina. "If I didn't have someone like you, I wouldn't have a card. Happy Mother's Day! I love you!"
Brian's birthday was on Mother's Day this year. It's happened a few times since we've been married and it's almost always in the same weekend. Anyhow, we celebrated even though Church was cancelled because there was a Tropical Storm on the loose. It never really amounted to much, but everyone came to our house, which was chaotic and fun. Happy 35th Babe!
Pop.
We went down to the farm one day to hang out. The kids ran outside to play on the swingset, Mom and I were in the farmhouse and heard a loud "POP" sound. We both looked out back, and saw Brian standing at the base of a tree with a rifle. Of course we run outside and find out that the kids had seen a snake head looking at them from beneath the tree. Brian grabbed a rifle, Pop grabbed a rake. When he uncovered it, they saw that it was a copperhead. Not sure what they were going to do, Pop moved it a bit with the rake and it reared up to strike, so Brian stopped it. Permanently. Fun stuff.
Matilda has some serious spit-up. Laying on the floor behind me, while I'm nursing, puts the dogs in the danger zone.
The many, funny faces of Matilda.
The kids rush in in the morning to talk to her. I love baby yawns.
Dentist appointments. I love that they love the dentist. I'm hoping they both get Brian's teeth...
Johnny decided to slide from the back of the bathtub to the front, on his belly, during his bath one night. He's lucky he didn't lose his eyeball. I seriously thought I was going to be making a trip to the ER that night with three kids. Luckily he just got a black eye.
Johnny went on his first Father/Son campout at Eagle's Nest. Brian, Pop, Jason, Jason G., and Uncle John were all there. Johnny is STILL saying "Thank you for the campout. Thank you that we could go sailing in the big boat, and the little boat." every night in his prayers. It goes on forever...
Matilda's first Sunday in a Sunday dress (the blessing dress doesn't count:). This is the outfit Galina wore for our first family picture.
Fast asleep in my bed. She's very comfy right between Mommy and Daddy.
She loves to talk to her big sister.
You can see how absolutely blue her eyes are here. This was the worst doctor appointment ever. EVER. We waited in the lobby for almost 45 minutes, then in the room for another 30 minutes. I was not a happy camper. Haven't decided if I'm going back there or not...but this girl sure is cute.
"Current Family Favorite"
Oh so true.
Told Mom, Molly and Emily that I wanted a picture with them - so we did a selfie, although, can that be applied to a group shot?
I forgot to pack extra clothes for the baby when we were at the farm and she naturally had a diaper leak that day. Thomas it is!
Eating that fist! I love that she's found her hands - can't wait for her to find her toes!!
