BOOKWORM

That's what her t-shirt says. Aunt Molly sent her this adorable outfit, it makes her look like such a big girl. I think that's why I keep her in onesies and socks, she still looks like a little baby in them. She's getting so big...somebody tell me how to stop it.

By the way, Georgie had a rather expensive romp on the beach last Thursday. We went on our usual walk, but on the way home I noticed a two inch piece of wood sticking out of his back right leg. I called Brian, who came home from work, pulled out what he could and we just hoped the rest would work it's way out. I made a vet appt for this past Monday just in case, got some antibiotics and was told to wrap warm cloths on it. By Thursday, the hole was opening back up, and the swelling hadn't gone down any. The vet on base doesn't have the facilities or the means to use sedation, so I called a vet out in town. Amazingly, got an appointment for the same day, Thursday at 3:30 p.m. By 4:00 p.m. I was leaving Georgie at the vets office to have a simple surgery done that afternoon. We picked him up at 6:30 p.m. He was a little out of it, whined with the e-collar on, and didn't want to eat. But, by this morning he's doing great. He licks the spot, but I figure he's only keeping it clean. He doesn't tug at the drain (gross looking isn't it?) and he's on the mend. The drain comes out on Tuesday. The doc said it would never have healed on it's own. That's what was left in his leg, in the zip-loc. So glad that I brought him in sooner rather than later, because we're leaving them here for two weeks to visit NC. Poor babies...

Cute cute cute girl! My cat had a drain in his neck once. It was gross, but it healed up and seemed to do the trick.
